Privacy Policy

This policy describes the information collected during a visit, the reasons it may be used, and the limited circumstances in which it may be shared. By using Wasatch County Criminal History, you accept the practices stated below.

Data You Give Us Directly

Search Queries

A name or location entered into a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider that operates it. That company processes the query and supplies the result. We do not keep or log those search terms on our systems.

Messages and Contact Submissions

We retain an email message when needed to answer it. The message remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by law.

Data We Gather Automatically

Our servers receive basic technical details whenever a page loads, including:

  • Page-view timestamps
  • Your device's assigned IP address
  • Browser name and version
  • Device type and operating system
  • Pages viewed and time spent on them
  • A referring website, when available

Cookies and Analytics

Cookies are small files saved on a device. They and our analytics services help show, in aggregate, which pages receive traffic and where visits end. Browser controls can block cookies, although doing so may change how parts of the site work.

What We Do With This Data

  • Operating the site and maintaining performance
  • Routing a query to the selected search partner
  • Measuring which resources visitors use
  • Diagnosing and correcting technical faults
  • Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests

No Criminal-Record Data on File

We do not maintain, assemble, or sell a database of personal criminal records. Our material identifies official routes for Wasatch County records held by the Sheriff's Office, Utah courts, the Utah Department of Public Safety Bureau of Criminal Identification, and the Utah Sex, Kidnap, and Child Abuse Offender Registry. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Visitor information is not turned into consumer reports or third-party criminal profiles.

Third-Party Search Partners

Outside companies operate the search boxes. Information submitted through a tool is governed by that provider's privacy policy, retention rules, and sharing practices, which we do not control. Review those terms before sending a query.

Links to Other Websites

Links may lead to sheriff pages, Utah court systems, state agencies, legal aid resources, or third-party tools. Once you leave this site, the destination's privacy policy applies. Read it before providing personal information.

Some advertising providers may use their own systems to follow activity across websites for targeted advertising.

Who Might See Your Data

We do not sell personal information. Limited data may be available to:

  • Analytics providers measuring traffic and performance
  • Search partners processing a submitted query
  • Advertising networks placing ads
  • Government or law-enforcement bodies acting under a valid legal order

How We Protect Your Data

Standard security measures are used to protect collected data. No internet system is completely secure, however, so we cannot guarantee that a breach will never occur.

Users Under 18

The site is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger than 18. If we learn that a minor supplied such data, we will delete it.

Your Data Rights

Depending on residence and applicable exemptions, the Utah Consumer Privacy Act, Utah Code Title 13, Chapter 61, may provide additional rights over personal data. Available requests may include:

  • Accessing personal data kept about you
  • Correcting inaccurate information
  • Requesting deletion where the law applies
  • Opting out of certain processing activities

Updates to This Policy

We may revise this policy. Any new version will appear here with a changed effective date.
